“Your fear is 100% dependent on you for its survival.” – Steve Maraboli
It’s a hard reality to accept, but we feed our own fear. We feed it like a hungry beast, and it is always hungry. It creeps in at just the precise moment demanding our attention. It whispers all the things we want to hear to keep us from moving forward or changing for our highest good. Fear is the enemy, and we love to keep our enemies close.
There will be many moments and situations in your life where fear will decide to show up. In these moments you have a choice—you can accept the story that fear is trying to sell you, or you can embrace reality and live your truth. It is up to you, but each time you let fear win, you lose a little piece of yourself. Why? Because fear breeds negativity and it manifests in ways that do not serve you. Fear becomes hate, jealousy, greed, judgment, anger, rage, resentment and more. Fear closes your heart and your mind and makes it impossible for you to receive. Fear keeps you from being whole.
How do you release fear and embrace life?
- Return to Love – Love is what we were born with. Fear is what we learned here (Marianne Williamson). When you lead with love, fear cannot be present. Love is everything and when you make it the center of your life and your thoughts, you push away the patterns of fear and create a new truth, your authentic truth.
- Be Authentic – When you live and speak your truth, you live in love. When you deny this you are living a false truth—you are telling a story that is not your own. When you can own and accept your story, you can truly begin to live in love with no fear in your heart.
- Find your Tribe – Surround yourself with those who truly resonate with you and your beliefs. When you are tied to people who do not believe in you or trust you, their fears become your own. Know your circle. Make sure everybody in your “boat” is rowing and not drilling holes when you’re not looking (Steve Maraboli).
Always remember–when fear approaches your heart, lead with love. Love is everything!
