I am a kid at heart–it’s my inner child. She has a sense of adventure and imagination that I love and admire–she is the joy and light of my personality. The rest of me is a classic introvert–strong and quiet, brave and cautious, open and sometimes closed. Like most introverts I listen more than I talk and give more than I receive. I am working on this–learning to inhale and exhale in my conversations and in life.
My story is my personal journey. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, PTSD, and chronic self-destruction. I can go on and on about how I got here, but I’m much more focused on where I am now and where I’m headed. The past is part of the journey, but it’s only the beginning of the story. Right now I’m somewhere in the middle–finding myself, speaking my truth and learning to be vulnerable. These are the things I want to share with you–being present now–because life is happening at this very moment!
My daily practices are simple: gratitude, meditation, serving others and self-care. It doesn’t seem like a whole lot, but it fills my cup. I love animals (I have 2 cats and 2 chickens), nature (especially the ocean), jazz music and wine (really good wine)! I appreciate the little things in life–like notes my husband leaves me, finding a penny, or the first rain of the season (I love that first rain smell). I’m a simple t-shirt and leggings girl, a die hard vegan and a self-proclaimed UNO champion (my husband won’t even play with me anymore).
On a professional note, I studied Business Administration and Education at Grand Canyon University (GCU). I have a B.S. in Education from GCU as well as my health-coaching certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN). I worked in education for almost 10 years when I felt the need to stop living other people’s dreams and start living my own. The need took about 3 years to develop from thought to action, and then finally I did something crazy–I took a risk!
Now I am an advocate for health, healing and wellness. I believe that many of the choices we make regarding our health (food, eating, lack of exercise, etc.) is often related to outside factors such as our career, relationships and other past issues that have not been released. I help people heal from past issues and traumas and start on the road to finding their healthy balance and awakening their passion for life!
Somewhere in my personal journey to wellness I started on the path to Reiki. It has been a wonderful tool in helping me heal from and release my past traumas. Reiki keeps me grounded and centered and it’s a daily part of my life. I am a Usui Reiki Practitioner and an Angelic Reiki Master.
Reiki healing energy provides means to balance the human energy fields (Auras) and energy centers (Chakras) to create conditions needed for the bodies healing system to function. Reiki practitioners transmit energy by light touch, placing their hands gently in specific positions on the body, assisting the clients to heal themselves spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.
I use Reiki to help people re-balance their mind, body and spirit, allowing them to release past traumas that are keeping them from stepping into their personal power. Reiki has also aided in the process of forgiveness for myself and many other people I have worked with. I love sharing this gift with the world. When I heal others, I heal myself!
So, in a nutshell, I am a survivor, a healer, an animal lover and an advocate! I believe that health and wellness begins with healing, and that healing begins with forgiveness. My passion is to help others heal from and release past experiences allowing them to find their healthy balance and awaken their passion for life. I have spent years transforming myself from victim to survivor and now to advocate. I am here to help you transform your life and find your voice through health, healing, wisdom, empowerment and movement.
I hope you enjoy this space that I have created and that you are able to find your healthy balance and awaken your passion for life!
